23rd WOC Tainan, Taiwan 2024
As part of its mission, the WOC Trust grants awards to outstanding young students to present their research to the general orchid public as a lecture or as a poster at a WOC. Students were grouped according to their educational status and competed for awards assigned to their group.
These studies demonstrated the latest advances in the field of orchidology in the following categories:
· Basic and Applied Research in Orchidology
· Orchid Conservation
· General Horticultural Education in Orchids
Granting Categories for Lectures and Posters
Category 1 - Secondary Degree (Students under 18 years old, attending school full-time)
Category 2 - BS, BSc, MS, MSc (Students completing a bachelor’s or master’s program)
Category 3 - PhD, DSc (Students completing a doctoral degree)
Category 4 - Post-Doctoral Fellows (Students working in a doctoral fellowship program)
