American Orchid Society (AOS)

AOS

Our Vision - The American Orchid Society will provide leadership in orchids.


Our Mission - The American Orchid Society's mission is to promote and support the passion for orchids through education, conservation, and research.


Our Goals

  • Increase member satisfaction and participation.
  • Extend the knowledge, production, use and appreciation of orchids.
  • Collect and disseminate information.
  • Support education and research.
  • Support the preservation and perpetuation of orchid species.
  • Recognize outstanding achievement.
  • Organize and maintain an orchid judging system.


AOS membership extends to at least 60 countries. We have a total of 267 active affiliated societies in located throughout the US, its territories and 23 additional countries around the world. Membership outside the US and its territories totals 12% of our membership - 1,200 give or take one or two.

Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC)

APOC

The objectives of the Trust shall apply especially to countries in the Asia Pacific Region and promote awareness and development of the hybridization, cultivation, science, and conservation of orchids and support research in these fields. 


In pursuit of its objectives, the Trust shall invite and approve applications to host the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC) from suitable organizations, which Conference shall occur every three years or at intervals determined by the Trustees.

Australian Orchid Foundation (AOF)

AOF

The Australian Orchid Foundation is a voluntary organisation of 100 members from all Australian States, devoted to the preservation, protection, promotion and cultivation of all orchid species and hybrids. It distributes many thousands of dollars every year, all raised from voluntary contributions, towards projects that further these aims.

As an approved Research Institute, it invites applications for grants or support from any person or group who wish to undertake specialised work on any subject that relates to orchids, whether endemic or otherwise. The work must be performed in Australia and/or must relate to the orchids of Australasia.

The Foundation maintains a Seed and Protocorm Bank to promote and facilitate the propagation and conservation of orchid species.


European Orchid Council (EOC)

EOC

EOC has a total of 31 active affiliated societies across all the European countries. The Council's aim is to help member societies cope with issues by sharing their experiences. The EOC grants the European Orchid Council Congress and Exhibition once every three years, organized by one (or a group of) member societies.

Associates are organizations with observer status, seek to host a WOC, are granted permission to host a WOC, or have special expertise necessary to further the Mission of the Trust.

Japan Orchid Growers Association (JOGA)

JOGA

JOGA was established in 1949 as a government-authorized organization of professional orchid growers, breeders, and traders. More than 170 members across Japan represent the organization’s membership. We promote the annual JOGA Orchid Show in Tokyo. Also, JOGA promotes and assists numerous orchid fairs, shows, and sponsoring societies across Japan. Since 1973 JOGA has had an established orchid judging system similar to the American Orchid Society. JOGA holds more than 50 judging events every year across Japan. Currently, Munekazu Ejiri is president.  Masayoshi Takahashi and Masahiro Nagasaki are the vice-presidents.

Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)

RHS

New Founded in 1804 as the Horticultural Society of London, the Royal Horticultural Society is the world's oldest society dedicated to the promotion of horticulture and gardening. Since its foundation the RHS has actively promoted the study and culture of Orchids. In 1889 the society established a specialist Orchid Committee to carry out this work. The RHS Orchid Comittee has remained very active throughout its history and continues to meet on a regular basis at Orchid shows, horticultural establishments and other venues throughout the UK on a monthly basis. The RHS seeks to promote excellence in the culture, breeding and study of Orchids which the Committee is able to achieve through granting a variety of awards for excellence. The RHS has had a long association with the WOC Trust and is glad to continue its support as an Associate and therfefore help to play a part in promoting the study and culture of Orchids on a global basis.

Taiwan Orchid Growers Association (TOGA)

TOGA

Taiwan Orchid Growers Association (TOGA), established on November 26, 2001, is a non-profit organization that assembles growers and distributors in Taiwan to promote the orchid industry and develop domestic and international markets. Currently, TOGA has 1,337 members. Our main missions are to conduct the annual the Taiwan International Orchid Show and to promote this show domestically and internationally; establish a cooperative mechanism of exchange visits with every international orchid organization; and promote the industry’s internationalization and information exchange. In addition, we actively assist the growers to expand the market, both of domestic and abroad, and enhance the cooperation between growers and distributors, in order to strengthen the development of Taiwan's orchid industry. 

Korat Orchid Society

Korat Orchid Society was established in Nakhon Ratchasima province (Korat), Thailand, in 1966. It was officially registered as an association in 1972. The society operates as a non-profit organization. Its goals are: 1. Encourage the public to know various varieties of orchids and appreciate their value and beauty; 2. Conserve and improve orchid species and hybrids; 3. Gather orchid lovers for idea exchange; and 4. Meet, socialize, give advice, and inculcate the love of natural resources.

     Korat Orchid Society’s longstanding tradition contributes to orchid community development, plays a pivotal role in creating provincial collaboration, and contributes to the robust national orchid association network in Thailand.
